Highly recommend, had an EICR done before buying a house and Tom was excellent
Tom carried out an EICR check on a property we were purchasing and he provided us with the peace of mind and information that we needed. Very helpful in explaining things we didn’t understand in a simple way, and provided some helpful tips along the way too! Thank you!
We approached Tom to carry out an EICR for a rental property. It was very last minute, but Tom accommodated our timescales and carried out any small repairs that were required to meet the standards. He was punctual, friendly, tidy and very efficient. Highly recommended.
Questions
The things people ask.
How often does a landlord need an EICR?
If you let a property in England, the law says the electrics must be inspected and tested at least every five years by a qualified person, and your tenants get a copy of the report.
How much does an EICR cost?
Our guide price for a domestic EICR is £180 to £320 (domestic EICR, up to ten circuits, certificate included). Larger properties and commercial premises are priced on the job.
Can an EICR fail?
Yes. Anything coded C1 (danger present) or C2 (potentially dangerous) makes the report unsatisfactory, and so does FI (further investigation needed) until it has been looked into. C3 is a recommended improvement and does not fail it.
Do you test commercial premises?
Yes. Shops, offices, industrial units and churches as well as homes, including emergency lighting tests.
