What it costs

Priced from a photo

What a new board costs depends on how many circuits you have and what the testing turns up, so we do not guess a number here. Send a photo of your current fuse box and we will tell you where you stand.

How it works

01

The power is off while the board is changed, so we agree a day and time that suits you.

03

Tested and labelled

The new board goes in, the circuits are tested and labelled, and you get the certificate.

Would highly recommend Tom and his team, fitted EV cabling in a challenging location, close attention to detail, thorough, tidy and polite. House left like they were never there. 100% recommend.

Questions

The things people ask.

How much does it cost to replace a consumer unit?

It depends on how many circuits you have and what the testing finds, so we price it from a photo of your current board rather than guess a number here.

Can I replace a consumer unit myself?

No. In England, replacing a consumer unit is notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations, so it has to be done by a registered electrician or signed off by building control.

Does my fuse box need replacing?

Not always. An old board with rewireable fuses, a board that keeps tripping, or one flagged on an EICR are the usual reasons to look at it. Send us a photo and we will tell you what we see.
